Class 20, Tattva Bodha

Acharya Tadany

In this pivotal class, Acharya Tadany presented the human body as a franchise of the Cosmic Government.

The physical organs (golakam) are merely the hardware, while the real functioning powers (indriyam and prāṇa) are leased to us by specific devatās acting as departmental ministers under the ultimate administrator, Īśvara.

The 17 subtle instruments (5 jñānendriyāṇi, 5 karmendriyāṇi, 5 prāṇas, manas, and buddhi) are governed by their respective devatās (Sūrya for sight, Agni for speech, Viṣṇu for movement, etc.), and every experience we have is made possible only because these cosmic “civil servants” grant us temporary permission.

Speech, powered by Agni, was singled out as the most precious faculty because it alone converts thought into communicable language and preserves knowledge across millennia.

When any organ malfunctions, Vedānta advises approaching the corresponding devatā exactly as one would approach the correct government office for a permit, reminding us that health is not merely biological but a matter of cosmic cooperation.

Ultimately, the class revealed that the perfectly balanced universal laws — gravity, oxygen, sunlight, rainfall — are not scientific accidents but the flawless administration of Īśvara, and human life is possible only because we live inside a divinely governed, perfectly functioning cosmic bureaucracy.
