Bhagavad Gītā, Chapter 6, Class 198

Acharya Tadany.

In this class on Dhyāna Yoga, Acharya Tadany unveiled Krishna’s profound roadmap for meditating on Bhagavān across three progressive levels of spiritual maturity.

The manda-adhikārī (beginner) focuses on a single personal form (ēka-rūpa dhyānam), cultivating devotion through concrete images and murtis to build emotional connection.

The madhyama-adhikārī (intermediate) expands to see the Divine manifested in everything (anēka-rūpa dhyānam), recognising the sacred energy animating all existence and fostering interconnected awareness.

The uttama-adhikārī (advanced) transcends all forms altogether (arūpa dhyānam), resting in the formless absolute where subject-object duality dissolves into non-dual Brahman.

Acharya Tadany stressed that consistent meditation, beyond mere technique, develops self-restraint, purifies scattered thought patterns (citta-vṛtti), and ultimately yields nitya-śāntim (permanent inner peace untouched by external flux), culminating in jīvan-mukti (liberation while living, free from psychological bondage) and finally vidēha-mukti (complete dissolution of the rebirth cycle).

The class culminated in the reminder that spiritual evolution is gradual and respectful of each stage: premature leaps lead to confusion, while patient, dedicated practice transforms ordinary life into a living sacrament, preparing the mind for the ultimate understanding that the Divine was never separate from the seeker.
