Class 24, Tattva Bodha

Acharya Tadany.

Acharya Tadany finally closed the terrifying chapter on kāraṇa śarīram with its fourth and deadliest feature:

anirvācya anādi avidyā rūpam, a beginningless, indescribable, neither-real-nor-unreal self-ignorance that is the sole cause of every rebirth.

Using the perfect analogy of darkness (experienced yet vanishing without trace when light appears), he showed that this ignorance is exactly like darkness: it has no independent existence, yet it is the only reason the entire movie of saṁsāra keeps playing.

Then, in the same class, Acharya Tadany enters the topic of the 3 states of experience.

In the waking state (jāgrat), all three bodies are active and we experience the world through the five sense-doors; in dream the physical body is dropped; in deep sleep even the subtle body is switched off and only the causal body remains in its pure, undifferentiated form,  giving us a daily preview of pralaya.

The only way to permanently delete this beginningless kāraṇa śarīram is ātma-jñānam; everything else (meditation, charity, rituals, therapy) is just an antivirus that puts it to sleep for one lifetime. 🦠🕉️
