Dear Friends, Students, and Readers,
With immense gratitude and deep emotion, I receive the news of being granted the Honorary Title of Distinguished Citizen of São Borja, unanimously approved by the City Congress of São Borja.
This title represents the highest honor that a Brazilian city can bestow upon a civilian and, once approved, it becomes municipal law, carrying not only symbolic value, but also a permanent institutional meaning.
São Borja is not merely the place where I was born. It is the land that shaped my first steps, my values, my affections, and my imagination. It is the ground where I learned to look at the world with curiosity, respect, hope, dignity, and humanity. To receive this honor from my hometown transcends any individual recognition, for it touches memory, history, and the heart.
I express my sincere gratitude to the President of the City Congress, Congressman João Carlos Reolon, and to all council members who, unanimously, understood this gesture not merely as a personal distinction, but as a symbol of belonging, connection, work, and love for the land that formed me.
In this way, I carry this title not as an endpoint, but as a silent call to responsibility, to honor São Borja wherever I may be, in the words I write, in the teachings I share, and in the human bridges I help to build around the world.
I also share this joy with my family, my teachers, my students, my friends, and with all those who, in one way or another, have walked alongside me throughout life.
Nothing is built alone. Every journey is always collective, even when lived at a distance and in silence.
May this recognition strengthen in me the commitment to knowledge, spirituality, and service to life.
With respect, gratitude, and love,
Acharya Tadany
