The Tug-of-War

On Burying What You Are Not and Letting the New Manifest

The burning avalanche is flowing.
The congested river is gutted.
The dawn of a new day is ever unpredictable.
The bulldozer rolls mercilessly all over.

The glass is not half-empty; there is nothing in it.
The empty fields abound.
There is no sunrise to look for its light.

How to bury what you are not,
and what you have been taught to think you should be?

How to let go of what no longer fits,
and let the new reality manifest itself?

I am always at this crossroad,
or better said, a tug-of-war.

What no longer has value,
yet still has a strong pull.

And what wants to manifest itself,
yet is a little insecure of its power and place.

Will it ever end?
Probably not.

Is it worth this endless turmoil?
Definitely yes.

Am I always ready for it?
Certainly not.

Do I ever cross these torments?
Absolutely.

What about all the rage, and pain, and desolation?
Well, they are mirrors.
At the time you look at them,
they hold a strong reality of their own.
But once you transcend them,
they just acquire a new shade and form.
