The Tragic Absurdity of Modern Warfare. Machines Destroying Machines While Humans Suffer. Governments are investing millions of dollars of taxpayers’ money - a wealth which is created through the labor, creativity, and effort of ordinary people - to develop and manufacture automated weapons. Then, these weapons are ultimately designed to destroy other automated war machines. Meanwhile, millions of human beings continue to suffer from hunger, lack access to clean water, electricity, healthcare, education, and the most basic standards of dignified living. In other words, we use resources generated by people to build machines whose sole purpose is to destroy other machines, while the very people who created that wealth are often left struggling for survival, and being increasingly divided by fear, conflict, and hatred.
