Progress Over Perfection.

A Morning Meditation on Overcoming Inner Resistance & A Blueprint for Inner Freedom.

Morning Meditation.

Do not wait for a perfect mind or ideal conditions; simply step out of the realm of daily preoccupations and distractions, and rest in the self-evident Awareness that you already are.

The beauty of nididhyāsana (Vedāntic meditation) is that, slowly but surely, the vagueness and doubts about one’s true nature vanish.

Initially, I can tell you that overcoming the high mountain of ignorance seems like an insurmountable obstacle—in fact, the sheer thought of climbing it sends shivers down one’s spine. And here lies the first challenge for any spiritual seeker: the very first step of making a firm decision, with the clarity of setting mokṣa (liberation) as the ultimate goal of life. Once this commitment is made, the true journey begins.

Now, by “challenge,” I do not mean something impossible or painful, but rather a diligent process of reorienting one’s emotional and mental framework—strengthening the entire internal architecture so that the ascent can begin.

Then, as one begins to climb, it is essential to remember that progress is better than perfection. One does not undo the mechanical habits and mental predispositions (vāsanās) of countless lifetimes overnight. In other words, one simply keeps moving forward—slowly, but surely.

After that, as the ascent continues and ignorance is systematically removed, the initial resistance to one’s true nature begins to yield to moments of clarity, fullness, and peace. When these moments arise, you must remember that these quiet joys and profound peacefulness are not caused by external circumstances.

Rather, they happen because self-doubt and inhibitions have lost their grip—very much like a thick cloud parting slightly to allow the sun’s rays to shine through.

Therefore, dear one, do not be discouraged by the height of the mountain, nor by the fleeting clouds of the mind. The sun of Consciousness (Ātmān) is not something you must construct; it is already shining, self-luminous and complete, behind every cloud of doubt.

Let your study (śravaṇa) and reflection (manana) find their fulfillment in quiet, steady contemplation (nididhyāsana). Sit every day, quiet the mind, and abide as the Witness (Sākṣī).

Do not wait for a perfect mind or ideal conditions; simply step out of the realm of daily preoccupations and distractions, and rest in the self-evident Awareness that you already are. Keep climbing, step by step, until the clouds dissolve entirely and you recognize your eternal nature as fullness, happiness, and peace—that is, Brahman.
